Southeast Hosts Central Michigan for St. Patrick's Day Doubleheader

Tomorrow, the Southeast Missouri State baseball team welcomes Central Michigan for a St. Patrick's Day doubleheader at Capaha Field. The Indians are unbeaten at home this year and enter the twin bill with a 4-8 record. The Chippewas bring along a 4-7 record. SCOUTING SOUTHEAST...The Tribe enters the game on a three-game skid. Southeast dropped all three games this week- end against Alabama. Junior starting pitcher Anthony Maupin pitched a complete game Saturday, while giving up just two runs, and six hits along the way. From the plate, junior center fielder Frankie Montiel has had the luck of the Irish on his side as of late. The third-place hitter for the Tribe hit .438 last week, with three doubles, one triple, two RBI, and two runs scored. The Arizona native is now third on the team with a .346 batting average. The Indians have been one of the toughest teams when play- ing at home. Southeast has won 17 of its last 21 games played at capaha Field, going back to March 12 of last year. SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN...The Chippewas come into today's action having lost two-of-three this weekend at UNLV. After loosing 5-3 and 14-7, CMU topped the UNLV 16-10 on Sunday, as they pounded out 14 hits along the way. SOUTHEAST ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY...The last time the Indians played on St. Patty's Day, they topped Culver Stockton 13-10. |
