Redhawks Baseball Game Moved to 3 p.m. Tuesday

May 12, 2008

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks baseball team announced a change in this week's schedule due to forecasted weather conditions. The Tuesday contest between the Redhawks and the Central Arkansas Bears at Capaha Field has been moved to 3 p.m.

The Redhawks and Bears are scheduled to play two non-conference midweek contests, originally slated for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday. The start time for the Wednesday afternoon contest remains unchanged.

Southeast Missouri (21-21) enters the midweek affair after winning two games of a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against Eastern Kentucky at Capaha Field over the weekend. Both wins came in walk-off fashion as sophomore shortstop Nick Harris hit the game-winning home run in the bottom of the 10th inning in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. On Sunday, freshman third baseman Trenton Moses singled in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the game-winning run from third base.

Sophomore left-handed pitcher Josh Syberg will lead the Redhawks on the mound tomorrow against the Bears, who are 24-25-1 and coming off of a tie Sunday at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The Redhawks split two games at Central Arkansas last season.
