Tucson, Ariz. - Their season may have ended, but the rewards are still flowing for two Southeast Missouri State Indians. Named to the Louisville Slugger/TPX Division I All-American baseball teams were RHP Todd Pennington to the second team and 2B Clemente Bonilla to the third team.

Pennington, who just last week was named OVC Pitcher of the Year, concluded his junior campaign at 12-2. For the past four weeks he has led the nation with his ERA, which he closed out at 1.33. The superlatives surrounding him are almost ridiculous, especially in the world of college baseball and aluminum bats. He was first in the league and tied for 12th in the nation with a 12-2 record. Pennington's 12 wins are a Southeast record, while his 121 strikeouts are second on the season list. He has three shutouts to his credit and was the only OVC pitcher to hang a loss on regular-season champion Eastern Illinois. At one time Pennington had 29-scoreless innings under his belt. He will also find his name in the NCAA record book next season, as his 4.81 hits per nine innings are 12th all-time over a season.

Bonilla, who took the league's other major award as OVC Player of the Year, started the season red-hot with a 12-game hitting streak against such nationally-ranked opponents as South Alabama and Mississippi, led the league in hitting for the first 10 weeks of the season. Bonilla was ranked as high as 19th in the NCAA ranking with his batting average and finished his junior season with a .388 average. A tough out at the plate, he has struck out just 18 times this season and broke the OVC single-season walks record with 61 passes. That number also reset the Southeast record he snapped his freshman season in 1999.

The Louisville/TPX honors are selected by representatives of Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
