PENNINGTON NAMED TO BASEBALL WEEKLY ALL-AMERICA TEAM

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Todd Pennington, Southeast Missouri State University junior right handed pitcher, has been named to the Baseball Weekly All-America team.

Pennington, who was named to the Baseball Weekly second team, was honored last week as a second team All-American by Louisville Slugger/TPX.

The Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, Pennington was 12-2 and led NCAA Division I in earned run average at 1.33. He ranked nationally in wins with 12 and strikeouts with 121.

Pennington earned a spot in the NCAA record book by allowing just 4.81 hits per nine innings which ranks 12th best all-time in NCAA Division I.

"Pennington is certainly worthy of all the honor he is receiving," said Southeast coach Mark Hogan. "He was a dominating pitcher for us this season and his honors bring more national attention to our program."
