CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Kyle Gumieny tossed four shutout innings and Blake Slattery drove in two runs to lead the White team to a 3-2 win in game two of the Steak and Beans Series Friday at a frigid Capaha Park.

The White team, who took a 2-0 series lead, will go for a sweep of the Grey team when play resumes Saturday at Noon.

The White team staked Gumieny to a 3-0 lead after scoring once in each of the second, third and fourth innings.

Kody Campbell doubled and came around to score on consecutive groundball outs in the second. Jesse Tierney drew a leadoff walk and later scored the second run off Grey team starter Brad LaBruyere in the third.

The Grey team had the bases loaded when Kenton Parmley lofted a deep fly ball to center fielder Nick Harris. Harris, after making the catch, gunned down Ryan Abernathy to complete a double play.

Despite the double play, the Grey team managed to pull to within a run (3-2) in the top of the sixth. Andy Stephens, however, held the Grey team at bay.

Gumieny was credited with the win, while Stephens picked up a save.

LaBruyere suffered the loss.

The Grey team outhit the White team, 6-3. The Grey team also had three errors on the day.

Game three will be played as part of the Redhawks family weekend Saturday.
