Southeast Missouri Claims OVC Win Over Eastern Kentucky

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Four players scored in double figures to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 68-62 Ohio Valley Conference win over Eastern Kentucky in a game that was televised nationally by ESPNU.

Roy Booker led Redhawks scorers with 18 points while Paul Paradoski and Terrick Willoughby each had 13 and Andrais Thornton 12 to go along with a career high 13 rebounds.

Southeast, 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the OVC, led 32-22 at the half, but the Colonels, 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the OVC, continued to battle back in the second half. EKU pulled within one point at 47-46 with 7:11 remaining, but the Redhawks never relinquished the lead.

Jason McLeish led the Colonels with 21 points while Matt Witt addedd 19.

Southeast dominated the backboards, outrebounding EKU 46-29. Thornton led the way with 13 boards while Waylon Francis added 10.

The Redhawks now go on the road for two straight OVC games, playing at Eastern Illinois on Thursday, 7:35 p.m. and at Murray State on Saturday, 7:15 p.m.
