CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Trenton Hassell scored 21 points, hitting 9-of-11 shots, and grabbed nine rebounds to help Austin Peay beat Southeast Missouri 88-60 on Saturday.

Austin Peay (11-3) dominated the nationally televised home game, taking the lead early and distancing Southeast Missouri by 30 points with three minutes remaining in the game.

Joining Hassell in double-digit scoring were Nick Stapleton, 19, Joe Williams, 18, and Matt Jakeway, 12. Williams also had 11 rebounds.

Emmanuel McCuthison led Southeast Missouri with 17 points, followed by Michael Stokes with 12.

Southeast Missouri (9-5), the defending co-champions of the Ohio Valley Conference, got within 18-17 in the first half on a three-pointer by Stokes.

But at the half, Austin Peay led 47-38 after a 17-2 run on bookend jumpers by Hassell and Stapleton.

Austin Peay opened the second half with a 7-0 run, with Hassell scoring five of those points, and Southeast Missouri never got closer than 10 points the rest of the game.
