Governors Edge Redhawks 68-67

Clarksville, Tenn. - Todd Babbington scored 17 points on 4-7 shooting from three and 5-7 from the line, to lead Austin Peay to a 68-67 Ohio Valley Conference win over Southeast Missouri State.

The win moved the Governors, 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the OVC, into a tie for the league lead. Southeast Missouri fell to 6-12 overall and 4-5 in the OVC.

The Redhawks led for much of the game including a 41-38 halftime lead, but could not hold on down the stretch. The game was tied 60-60 with 2:35 remaining when Landon Shipley came off the bench to sink a 3-pointer to put the Governors on top for good.

Redhawks guard Paul Paradoski scored five points in the final minute and brought Southeast within one with a 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining but the Governors ran out the clock and moved into the first place tie.

Junior Brandon Foust recorded his first Southeast double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while David Johnson and Marcus Rhodes each added 14 points.

Southeast will host Tennessee State at the Show Me Center on Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
