Tennessee State Hands Redhawks Third Straight Loss

Nashville, Tenn. - Bruce Price scored 33 points to lead Tennessee State to an 87-75 Ohio Valley Conference win over Southeast Missouri State.

Tennessee State never trailed in the game and jumped to an early 23-10 lead. The Redhawks, though, battled back to trail only 34-33 at the half.

The Redhawks, 11-8 overall and 6-3 in the OVC, trailed only 49-46 with 13-minutes remaining, but the Tigers behind the scoring of Price kept Southeast at bay the rest of the game. Price had 26 second half points including four 3-pointers.

Soutehast was led by Kenard Moore's 16 points. Moore, who scored all his points in the second half, was 5-9 from the floor, 4-7 from three and 2-2 from the line. Marcus Rhodes and Jaycen Herring each scored 11 points while Calvin Williams added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

In addition to Price's 33 points, Gerald Robinson had 18, Jerrell Houston had 12 and LaDarious Weaver 11. Tennessee State is 7-10 overall and 4-4 in the OVC.

Southeast continues on the road for a Saturday afternoon game at Tennessee Tech. The tipoff will be at 1 p.m. at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tenn.
