Big First Half Lifts Southeast Missouri to 92-78 Win Over Tennessee State

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast MIssouri State jumped to a 42-12 lead during the first half and coasted to a 92-78 Ohio Valley Conference win over Tennessee State. The Redhawks, who led 52-30 at the half, were never seriously threatened during the second half.

The Redhawks made 10-19 treys during the first half barrage that built up the 30 point lead. In the first stanza, Brandon Foust was 2-2 from three and David Johnson was 3-4.

Foust finished the game with 20 points to lead five Redhawks in double figures. Johnson and Dionte Perry had 15 points, Michael Rembert had 13 and Marcus Rhodes 12. Rembert had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

The Redhawks, 7-12 overall and 5-5 in the OVC, shot 52% from the field, 43% from three and 81% from the line.

Tennessee State, 8-10 overall and 4-4 in the OVC, was led by Andrae Belton with 14 points.

Southeast will host Tennessee Tech on Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
