Late Tip In Gives Southeast 61-59 Win At Morehead State

Jan. 25, 2007

Morehead, Ky. - Michael Rembert's tip in with one-second remaining gave Southeast Missouri State a 61-59 Ohio Valley Conference win over Morehead State.

Morehead State had battled back after trailing by eight points at 59-51 with 4:37 remaining to tie the score at 59-59. It appeared the Eagles would take the lead when Quentin Pryor went in for a go ahead layup with 11-seconds remaining, but Brandon Foust blocked the shot and David Johnson brought down the rebound giving the Redhawks a chance for the final shot.

Freshman Roderick Pearson put up a 3-point shot with three-seconds remaining, but it rimmed off and Rembert tipped it in for the win.

Rembert, who did not start because of a foot injury, came off the bench to score 18 points and pull down seven rebounds for the Redhawks who are now 8-13 overall and 6-6 in the OVC. He was the only Southeast player in double figures. Pearson had nine points and Johnson eight.

Morehead State, 10-9 overall and 6-5 in the OVC, was led by Shaun Williams with 16 points.

The Redhawks will host Murray State on Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Show Me Center.
