Second Half Outburst Leads Redhawks to 84-65 Victory

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Southeast Missouri State came back from a 10-point second half deficit to defeat Jacksonville State 84-65 in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Southeast, 8-10 overall and 3-4 in the OVC, trailed 43-39 at the half and fell behind 49-39 with 17:16 remaining. The Redhawks used a 9-3 run at that point to pull within 52-51 with 12:41 remaining. Southeast finally gained the lead at 55-54 on a basket by Reggie Golson with 11:36 remaining and never trailed again.

Southeast was led by Terrick Willoughby with a career-high 25 points, while Dainmon Gonner added 24 and Golson 12. Golson led all rebounders with nine and had three blocked shots.

Jacksonville State, 4-15 and 0-7 in the OVC, was led Brandon Davis with 20 points.

Southeast will host league leading Samford on Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Show Me Center.
