CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Tim Scheer scored a game-high 32 points to lead Southeast Missouri State past Tennessee State 87-67 on Thursday night.

Southeast led by at least 30 points for most of the second half, and Tennessee State got to within 24 points just once before Southeast began clearing its bench.

Scheer was 11-of-15 from the field, and 5-of-6 from 3-point range. Brett Hale had 17 points for the Indians (8-11, 3-4 Ohio Valley), and Derek Winans had 13.

Brandon Griffin grabbed 13 rebounds for Southeast, while Kevin Roberts had nine assists.

Five players scored in double figures for Tennessee State, led by Brandon Lockridge's 11 points. Reshawne Bowens, Josh Cooperwood, Jeremy Jackson and Adrian Pritchett all scored 10 points for the Tigers (2-16, 0-7).

Southeast Missouri, after shooting 61 percent from the field and making 10-of-15 3-pointers, led 55-25 at halftime. The Indians outrebounded Tennessee State 45-28.
