Tennessee-Martin Beats Southeast 66-55

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Tennessee-Martin built up a 15-point halftime lead and held off a late Southeast Missouri rally to claim a 66-55 Ohio Valley Conference win.

The Skyhawks, 10-12 overall and 7-9 in the OVC, led 35-20 at the half and expanded the lead to 17 points early in the second half. The Skyhawks held Southeast to just 22% shooting from the field in the first half.

Southeast Missouri, 6-15 overall and 3-12 in the OVC, rallied to pull within four points at 47-43 with 9:25 remaining, but never got closer. The Redhawks were led by Roy Booker's 23 points that included 14-15 from the free throw line. Freshman Eric Jones added nine points including 6-6 from the line.

Tennessee-Martin was led by Jared Newson with 23 points while Will Lewis add3d 13 and Jeremy Kelly 11.
