Indians Fall To Eastern Kentucky, 79-75

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Shawn Fields scored 32 points and made 15 of 17 free throws as Eastern Kentucky rallied to beat Southeast Missouri 79-75 Saturday night.

Southeast took the lead early in the first half and held it until the final minutes of the game. Fields tied it at 71-71 on two free throws with 3:14 to play, and he put the Colonels ahead 75-73 with two free throws at the one-minute mark.

Matt Witt added 20 points and made four of five 3-pointers for Eastern Kentucky (9-12, 3-7 Ohio Valley Conference). The Colonels shot 52 percent from the field and went 22-of-30 from the free-throw line.

Tim Scheer scored 25 points on 9-of-10 shooting to lead Southeast Missouri (9-14, 4-7). Brandon Griffin added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Derek Winans had 12 points for the Indians, who shot 57 percent.

Southeast Missouri took a 20-18 lead on Scheer's 3-pointer with 13:06 left in the first half and led the rest of the first half. The Indians took a 44-36 lead into halftime, when Scheer made a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Southeast shot 64 percent in the half, while Eastern Kentucky shot 50 percent.

Southeast led by nine with 14:25 to go, but Eastern Kentucky stayed in the game, pulling to 71-69 with 5:12 to go. Fields scored 10 of the Colonels' final 14 points.
