Southeast Basketball Wins Sixth Straight OVC Game

Charleston, Ill. - Dainmon Gonner scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Southeast Missouri State to an 88-79 road Ohio Valley Conference win at Eastern Illinois. It was the sixth straight win for the Redhawks who moved into sole possession of fourth place in the OVC.

The Redhawks trailed by as many as seven points early in the second half, but went ahead 63-62 on a drive by Terrick Willoughby with 8:33 remaing and never trailed again. Willoughby had 17 points for the Redhawks who completed an undefeated three game road trip.

Reggie Golson added 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds while Mike Nelke had 14 points and Derek Winans 12.

Eastern Illinois was led by Josh Gomes" 28 points.

Southeast, 12-10 overall and 7-4 in the OVC, returns to the Show Me Center on Saturday night to host the Tennessee State Tigers.
