Redhawks Rally Again Comes Up Short

Morehead, Ky. - Southeast Missouri State had the ball trailing by just one point with less than 10-seconds remaining, but Paul Pardoski passed up an open 3-pointer to try and thread a pass inside to Waylon Francis and the ball went out of bounds with 1.9-seconds remaining to seal a victory for Morehead State.

Southeast 6-16 overall and 3-13 in the Ohio Valley Conference, trailed for the entire game, but the Redhawks got to within one point at 60-59 behind of the scoring of Roy Booker who scored eight straight points after Southeast trailed 60-51 with 2:17 remaining.

Morehead State, 4-17 and 3-12 in the OVC, missed four straight free throws to open the door for the Redhawks. After a timeout with 10-seconds remaining, the Redhawks brought the ball down with a chance for the win but turned the ball over with 1.9 seconds remaining. Quinton Smith hit two free throws with one-second remaining for the final margin of 62-59.

Booker led Southeast with 21 points and eight rebounds while Francis added 11 points and six boards.

Quentin Pryor led theEagles with 20 points, while Smith added 13 and Ryan Allen 10.

Southeast continues on the road for a game at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, 11 a.m.
