Box Score

CAPE GIRARDEAU - The Southeast Missouri State men's basketball team dropped its sixth game in seven attempts as the Indians (10-12, 3-8 OVC) lost to Eastern Illinois (5-16, 3-8 OVC) Tuesday night at the Show Me Center 89-85.

The second half was much the same, as the Panthers finished the game shooting 69.6 percent from the field. After making his first 10 shots, Mackinson finished 12-of-14 from the field and ended with 29 points-including a clutch free throw with nine seconds left.

Dainmon Gonner led Southeast with 23 points, while Brandon Griffin just missed a double-double with 18 points and a game-high nine boards. Mike Nelke also added 15 points for the Indians.

Along with Mackinson's game-high 29 points, EIU's Aaron Patterson put in 16 on 7-of-9 from the floor. Derik Hollyfield and Jake Sinclair added 13 and 10, respectively.

Southeast now heads on the road for a Valentine's matchup with Tennessee State. The Indians will tipoff with the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night in Nashville, Tenn.
