Eastern Kentucky Beats Southeast

Final Stats

Richmond, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky dominated play from beginning to end to post a 80-51 Ohio Valley Conference win. The Colonels jumped to a 40-17 lead at the half and never let Southeast get closer than 17 points in the second half.

Southeast, 6-17 overall and 3-14 int he OVC, shot just 22% from the field in the first half and just 32% for the game. The Redhawks were 26% from three and 60% from the line. Roy Booker, the top scorer in the OVC, led the Redhawks attack with 23 points and eight rebounds.

Waylon Francis had nine rebounds as Southeast outrebounded the Colonels 37-36.

Eastern Kentucky, 11-13 overall and 8-8 in the OVC, was led by Jason McLeish with 20 points while Darnell Dialls had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Southeast will host Eastern Illinois on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at the Show Me Center.
