Tennessee State Tops Southeast

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Roshaun Bowens scored 28 points to lead Tennessee State to a 90-86 victory over Southeast Missouri on Saturday night.

Bowens also had six rebounds and five assists to lead the Tigers (6-17, 5-7 Ohio Valley Conference).

Southeast Missouri (10-13, 3-9) led 50-41 with 19:11 left on a free throw by Reggie Golson, who finished with 11 points.

But Tennessee State stayed close, tying the game 77-77 on a 3-pointer by Bowens with 3:27 remaining and taking its first lead on their next possession on Jeremy Jackson's layup.

The Indians cut it to 81-80 on a three-point play by Brett Hale with 1:11 left, but Tennessee State went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line in the final minute to seal the win.

Bruce Price and Garrett Richardson each added 18 points for Tennessee State.

Southeast Missouri's Dainmon Gonner scored 22 points, Mike Nelke 17, DeMarcus Hence 14 and Derek Winans 10.
