MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Chris Shumate had 19 points and four assists to lead Murray State to a 71-65 victory over Southeast Missouri Saturday night.

Cuthbert Victor added 16 points and had two assists for Murray State (14-9, 7-5, Ohio Valley Conference). Rick Jones added 15 points.

Damarcus Hence led Southeast Missouri (9-16, 4-9) with 17 points before fouling out of the game. Brett Hale and Derek Winans each added 15 points.

Murray State hit 14-of-23 (60 percent) 3-point shots, while Southeast Missouri hit only 4-of-17 (23.5 percent).

Murray State led at halftime 35-28.
