Eastern Kentucky Ends Southeast Win Streak

Richmond, Ky. - - Eastern Kentucky held Southeast Missouri without a field goal in the final 9:33 to end the Redhawks seven game win streak with an 83-72 victory.

In a wide open offensive game that saw the game tied 15 times with 10 lead changes, Southeast held a 65-61 lead when Reggie Golson who had a team high 28 points scored with 9:33 remaining.

Matt Whitt put the Colonels on top to stay with a four-point play with 7:42 remaining. Southeast did get within three at 73-70 with 2:28 remaining but could never get closer.

In addition to Golson's 28 points and eight rebounds, Dainmon Gonner had 23 points for the Redhawks who lost for the first time with the new nickname. Eastern Kentucky had four men in double figures led by Michael Haney with 24, Whitt with 16, Zach Ingles with 14 and Alonso Hird with 12 points and a game high 11 rebounds.

The Redhawks who play at Morehead State on Saturday night are now 13-11 overall and 8-5 in the OVC
