California-Riverside Beats Southeast 69-61

Riverside, Calif. - California-Riverside jumped to an early 11-8 lead on the way to a 69-61 win over Southeast Missouri State. Center David Misko, 6-10, scored eight of the first 11 points for the Highlanders on the way to a career high 22 points.

UC-Riverside, 4-19, led 34-24 at the half and pushed the lead to 22-points with 10:33 remaining in the game. A 20-8 run at the start of the second half put the Highlanders up 54-32, but Southeast mounted a comeback that pulled the Redhawks to within four points with 45-seconds remaining.

Southeast, 6-19, got back in the game behind the scoring of Roy Booker and Terrick Willoughby. Booker led the way with 23 points while Whilloughby had 16 including 4-8 from three.

The Highlanders were led by Misko's 22 points while Rickey Porter had 11 points including six of six from the free throw line in the final 35-seconds to preserve the victory.

Southeast will close the season with home games against Samford on Thursday and Jacksonville State on Saturday. The games, at the Show Me Center, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
