CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Thursday, February 24, 2005) --- Murray State kept its slim Ohio Valley Conference title hopes alive by beating Southeast Missouri 61-57.

The Racers are 16-10 overall, 10-5 in the OVC, and one game behind league leading Tennessee Tech with one regular season game remaining. The Racers led for most of the game but never by more than nine points.

Murray led 35-29 at the half and never trailed in the second half. The Redhawks, 13-13 overall and 8-7 in the OVC, got within two in the second half, but could never get closer.

Issian Redding came off the bench to lead Racer scorers with 14 points. No one else was in double figures, but nine players scored in the balanced attack. Southeast was led by Dainmon Gonner with 15 points while Terrick Willoughby had 12 and Reggie Golson 11.

Southeast will close the regular season on Saturday by hosting Tennessee-Martin while Murray State will play at Eastern Illinois.
