Pearson Leads Southeast in 87-76 Win Over Culver-Stockton

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State defeated Culver-Stockton, 87-76, Saturday night at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks outscored their opponents 55-46 after the game was tied at 32 at the half. Sophomore point guard Roderick Pearson (Kansas City, Mo./Raytown South) led the Redhawks with 18 points, including 9-10 shooting from the charity stripe. Southeast improves to 1-2 on the season while Culver-Stockton's record was unaffected as the game was an exhibition on their schedule.

Marcus Rhodes (Gary, Ind./Harmony Community) scored 14 points and dished out four assists for Southeast. Brandon Foust (Columbus, Ohio/Oklahoma) socred 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in only 16 minutes played. Calvin Williams (Memphis, Tenn./Colorado), Will Bogan (Charleston, Mo./Bell City) and David Johnson (St. Louis, Mo./Meramec CC) all scored 10 points for the Redhawks. Williams pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Johnson was 3-5 from beyond the arc.

Jordan Harris led Culver-Stockton with a game-high 21 points and seven rebounds. He was 4-7 from three point range and 5-6 from the free throw line. Brice Fantazia added 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Southeast continues their non-conference schedule on Tuesday when they host Evansville from the Missouri Valley Conference at 7:30 p.m. from the Show Me Center.
