Centenary Beats Redhawks 83-51

Fairbanks, Alaska - Centenary outscored Southeast Missouri 9-0 in the final 2:45 of the first half to break open a tight game and propel the Gents to an 83-51 win in the consolation semi-finals of the BP Top of the World Classic basketball tournament.

The Gents led 34-32 with 2:45 remaining in the half but went on the 9-0 run to put them on top 43-32 at the break. Centenary started the second half with a a 9-1 run to go up 55-33 and the Redhawks never threatened again.

Southeast, 0-3 on the season, shot just 30.8% from the field, 24% from three and 52% from the line while being outrebounded 41-31. The Redhawks had not players in double figures withe Brandon Foust the top scorer with nien points while freshman Roderick Pearson had eight and Michael Rembert seven. Rembert and JaJuan Maxwell each led the team with six rebounds.

Centenary, 2-2, had four players in double figures led by Larry Logan with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Southeast will play Alaska-Fairbanks on Sunday, 6:30 p.m. (CST).
