Basketball Redhawks Claim 89-50 Win Over Culver-Stockton

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri put five players in double figures on the way to an 89-50 win over Culver-Stockton.

The visiting Wildcats stayed in the game for 15-minutes but the Redhawks pulled out of a 28-28 tie with 4:38 remaining,to go on a 16-4 run to take a 44-32 halftime lead. Phil Peugh kept the Wildcats in the game early, hitting 4-5 3-pointers for 12 first half points, but the Redhawks did not allow him to score in the second half.

Guard Kenard Moore led the Redhawks with 24 points including 5-9 from three. Jaycen Herring contributed 17 points while Johnny Hill had 16. Calvin Williams, playing in his first game of the season had 14 points and 7 rebounds.

LaMont Russell had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

|Peugh and Brice Fantazia led the way for Culver-Stockton with 12 points each.

Southeast, 1-2 on the season, will play at Iowa on Tuesday. The game at Carver Hawkeye Arena will begin at 7:05 p.m.
