Southeast Tops Central Methodist, 82-63

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Derek Winans scored 20 points and Brandon Griffin added 19, leading Southeast Missouri State to an 82-63 win over Central Methodist on Monday night.

Brett Hale added 14 points and Damarcus Hence finished with 10 for the Indians (1-1), who built a 49-31 halftime lead over their NAIA opponents.

Southeast Missouri State forced 22 turnovers and held the Eagles to 39 percent (22-for-56) shooting from the field.

Steve McGee scored 19 points to lead Central Methodist (5-1), and Justin Cornell added 17. Zach Towe just missed a double-double for the Eagles, finishing with nine points and 10 assists.
