Redhawks Fall on the Road to Nebraska, 69-54

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Wes Wilkinson scored a career-high 25 points and had a team-high nine rebounds to lead Nebraska to a 69-54 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Sunday.

Nebraska (4-0) broke a 17-all tie on an Aleks Maric jumper and then held the Redhawks (2-2) to four points over a 6:21 span of the first half.

Nebraska, which had struggled from the field in its first three games, hit 59 percent of its shots in the first half. The Huskers finished at 51.9 percent.

Southeast Missouri, which shot just 30.3 percent, cut the lead to eight points early in the second half but got no closer.

Wilkinson - who made 10 of 15 shots, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range - scored 10 straight points as Nebraska used an 11-3 run to go up by 20 points with 1:10 to play.

Jason Dourisseau added 12 points for the Huskers.

Roy Booker led Southeast Missouri with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Terrick Willoughby added 15 points.

The Redhawks outrebounded Nebraska 39-37.

The Redhawks conclude their three-game road swing on Saturday, December 3 against Tennessee-Martin in both team's Ohio Valley Conference opener. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
