ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) - Henry Jordan scored 33 points, including six during an 11-3 run in the second half, to lead Mississippi Valley State to an 83-77 win Wednesday night over Southeast Missouri State.

Jordan's basket with 7:31 remaining gave Mississippi Valley (2-2) a 53-47 lead after Southeast Missouri (4-2) had cut it to four. The basket also started the second-half run that ended about three minutes later with two free throws by Dewayne Jefferson.

Jefferson had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Mississippi Valley led 34-27 at the half.

Jordan, a 6-foot-11 center, could not be stopped on the inside.

He started a 10-3 run in the first half on a basket at the 12:44 mark and ended the run on a shot that made it 20-11.

In the second half, Amory Sanders pulled Southeast Missouri closer with a 3-pointer to make it 51-47 with 8:14 left. But Jordan and Jefferson combined for 32 second-half points to put the game out of reach.

Antonio Short led Southeast Missouri with 22 points. Sanders and Michael Stokes added 11 points each.
