CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. (December 20, 2000) - Southeast Missouri State jumped out to an early 12-2 lead and put four scorers in double figures in defeating the Campbell University Fighting Camels 81-54 at the Show Me Center on Wednesday.

Campbell (3-6) got off to a quick start by scoring the game's first basket. Unfortunately for them it would be the team's only lead of the night. A 12-0 run sparked the team and the Indians (7-3) never looked back. Senior guard Antonio Short was on fire in the first half hitting 5-5 from the field, including 4-4 from three-point range, and 3-3 from the line for a team high 17 at the break. Short got a lot of his points from Michael Stokes who had seven assists at the break.

The second half saw more of the same as Southeast would continue to increase its lead, which reached 27 at the final horn.

Southeast improved its shooting after a couple of off-games, connecting on 56% from the field and 40% from three-point range. Campbell was limited to only 35% from the field and 35% from three.

Emmanuel McCuthison led all scorers with 20 points and all rebounders with seven boards. Stokes added 11 points and a career-high 10 assists.

Campbell was lead in scoring by preseason TAAC first-team selection Adam Fellers who had 19 points.
