BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- Southeast Missouri freshman guard Derek Winans was named Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Year for the third time this season Monday.

Winans had another impressive week, averaging 18.3 points in three games. He shot 56 percent from the field and 55 percent from behind the arc. Winans also grabbed 16 boards and four steals in the three contests.

Winans leads Southeast in scoring and assists. He averages 15.4 points and 3.2 assists per game. In OVC games, Winans averages 14.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting .488 from the field, .462 from three and .778 from the line.

Winans had previously won the honor on back-to-back weeks on November 23 and December 3.
