Southeast Will Host Louisiana Tech in O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBuster
Jan. 30, 2007 Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State will host Louisiana Tech from the Western Athletic Conference as a part of the O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBuster series on Saturday, Feb. 17, 7:30 p.m. The Redhawks are 8-15 overall and 6-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference while Louisiana Tech is 6-14 overall and 4-4 in the WAC. Southeast will return the game next season at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. Louisiana Tech defeated Southern Illinois-Carbondale in last year's BracketBuster, but lost the return match at Carbondale earlier this season, 50-36. The Redhawks lost at California-Riverside in their BracketBuster matchup last season, but defeated UCR 78-75 earlier this season in the return game. The Redhawks and Bulldogs have two common opponents this season. Both teams lost to Arkansas and Centenary. Southeast lost at Arkansas 92-52 and lost to Centenary in Alaska, 83-51. Louisiana Tech lost at Arkansas 80-50 and lost a neutral site game to Centenary 82-73. The Redhawks and Bulldogs have met only once previously with the Redhawks winning at Ruston, 69-65, in 1996. The Southeast vs. Louisiana Tech BracketBuster game will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the Southeast women's team playing Tennessee-Martin at 5 p.m. |
