Rembert Out Indefinitely With Knee Injury

Feb. 9, 2007

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State will go into Saturday's nationally televised game with Eastern Kentucky without the services of 6-9 center Michael Rembert.

Rembert, the Redhawks leading rebounder and third leading scorer, suffered a knee injury late in Thursday night's 81-78 win over Morehead State. "Michael had an MRI on Friday and we should know the results sometime on Saturday," said Southeast coach Scott Edgar "He will definitely not play against Eastern Kentucky and is out indefinitely. We won't know the extent of the injury until we get the MRI results."

Rembert's backup, 6-7 Dionte Perry, did not play against Morehead State because of a head injury suffered in last Saturday's win at Tennessee-Martin. His availability will be a game time decision on Saturday. Senior Tyrell White is expected to get the start.

Southeast 10-15 overall and 8-8 in the OVC, has won two straight while Eastern Kentucky, 14-9 overall and 9-6 in the OVC, has won four straight.

The OVC battle begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday and will be televised nationally by ESPNU. The game will be carried locally on the Heartland's CW, WQWQ-TV.
