Powell is 2011 NCAA Statistical Champion in Field Goal Percentage

By Jeff Honza CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri forward Leon Powell is the 2011 NCAA Division I statistical champion in field goal percentage. Powell, who earned Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors and was named to the league's All-Newcomer Team, was first out of 250 players ranked. He made 172-of-273 field goals for a 63 percent clip. Powell also led the Redhawks in points (14.1 ppg), rebounds (7.7 rpg) and blocks (50). Powell is the second NCAA Division I individual statistical champion for Southeast in 2010-11. Redhawks RB Henry Harris was the other. Harris led the nation in all-purpose yardage (217.4 ypg). |
