CAPE GIRARDEAU - The Gunco Rotterdam Basketball team in the Netherlands Basketball Federation includes four former Southeast Missouri State University players.

The Gunco team plays at Topsport Centrum in Rotterdam and includes Mike Branson and Brian Bunch from last year's NCAA tournament team, Calvert White who played at Southeast from 1996-98 and Eelco Derks who played from 1989-93.

Branson, Bunch and White have been in the Netherlands since mid-August taking part in training camp and playing exhibition games. Derks is a native of the Netherlands.

Gunco opened league play on Monday night beating C3 Cobras, 64-63.

Another member of last year's Southeast team, Roderick Johnson, is playing for Alba-Chorzow in Poland. His team also opened league play this week and Johnson had 27 points to lead his team to a 89-84 win over Wisla-Krakow.

William "Bud" Eley is in his second season with Besiktas in Istanbul, Turkey. After 25 games this season, Eley is averaging 16.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He is the third leading rebounder in the Turkish Basketball League.
