Southeast Sighns Caruthersville Basketball Star

Nov. 13, 2002

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Chris Springer, a 5-10 guard from Caruthersville, has signed a national letter of intent and plans to enroll at Southeast Missouri State University in the fall of 2003.

Springer gained all-conference honors last season when he averaged 19 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He was coached the past two seasons by Kevin Williams who is now an assistant coach at Southeast.

"We are extremely happy to sign Springer during the early signing period," said Southeast coach Gary Garner who hopes to sign at least two more players during the early period. "He is quick, fast and a great shooter with great range. He is a great athlete with tremendous potential."

Springer, who played running back and safety on the Caruthersville football team, has been timed at 4.0 in the 40.
