Southeast Signs Junior College Basketball Player

Nov. 19, 2003

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State University basketball coach Gary Garner has announced that James White of Southwestern Illinois Community College in Belleville, Ill., has signed a national letter of intent to attend Southeast in the fall of 2004.

White, 6-7, 215, averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game last season at Southwestern Illinois. He played high school basketball at Belleville East High School.

"White is a late bloomer who is expected to have a big sophomore year at Southwestern Illinois," Garner said. "He played behind a first team All-American last season, but is starting this season. He can shoot the three and score inside. We feel fortunate to sign him during the early signing period."

White is the second player to sign during the early period joining guard Paul Paradoski of Vianney High School in St. Louis.
