Redhawks Host IPFW

Nov. 29, 2006

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men's basketball team will host IPFW at the Show Me Center on Wednesday night with hopes of building momentum before the Ohio Valley Conference opener on Saturday night.

The Redhawks, 2-4, are 1-0 at the Show Me Center this season. "We have a young team that should benefit from playing at home," said Southeast coach Scott Edgar. "This is a big game because we want some momentum going into our OVC opener on Saturday night when Tennessee-Martin will be at the Show Me Center."

The Redhawks and Mastodons have a 1-1 series record with IPFW winning 65-64 at the Show Me Center last season while the Redhawks claimed a 77-75 win at Fort Wayne in 2004.

"The history of this series shows that we should have a close and exciting game," Edgar said. "I hope we can have a big crowd to give us the edge in a tight game."
