Knee Injury Will Keep Paradoski Out Of Jacksonville State and Samford Games

Dec. 15, 2006

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Junior point guard Paul Paradoski of Southeast Missouri State University will miss Ohio Valley Conference games with Jacksonville State and Samford because of a knee injury suffered in practice on Tuesday.

â€oeAfter X-rays and an MRI it has been determined that Paul has no structural damage, but he will miss at least the next two games because of a bone bruise,  said Southeast coach Scott Edgar. â€oeIt is unfortunate that Paul will have to miss a couple of games, but he is a tough competitor who will be back in the lineup as soon as is physically possible.

Paradoski, who has started 63 of 66 games played at Southeast, has started all ten games this season and is averaging 5.4 points and 2.8 assists per game.

Edgar indicated that freshman Roderick Pearson is the probable starter for Sundayâ€TMs 4:30 p.m. game at the Show Me Center. â€oeWe will probably start Roderick against Jacksonville State and then play point guard by committee,  Edgar said.

Pearson has averaged 4.6 points and 1.8 assists per game. He will be making his first collegiate start.

Southeast is 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the OVC going into Sundayâ€TMs game while Jacksonville State is 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the OVC.

The OVC preseason favorite Samford Bulldogs will be at the Show Me Center on Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., to go against the Redhawks.
