The Indians have additional wins over Central Methodist, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Oakland City. The losses have been to Arkansas State, Indiana State, Tulane and Southern Illinois. Arkansas-Little Rock is 5-3 with wins over Cal State Fullerton, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Alcorn and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Trojans have losses to Hawaii, Memphis and Minnesota in overtime. THE COACHES: Gary Garner is 86-67 in his sixth season at Southeast and is 333-231 in his 20th season as a collegiate head coach. Porter Moser is 41-25 in his third season at UALR. THE SERIES: Arkansas-Little Rock leads the series 2-1 including an 83-74 win last season at the Show Me Center. SOUTHEAST NOTES Griffin Averages Double-Double: Junior college transfer Brandon Griffin, the OVC Newcomer of the Week for two weeks in a row, is averaging a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. He is the 18th leading rebounder in the nation. Griffin had 22 points and 11 rebounds against SIU, ranked second in the national mid-major poll last week. Griffin was the leading rebounder in the University Hoops Classic and was named to the all-tournament team. He had 33 rebounds in the three tournament games. Griffin had 14 points and four rebounds against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 17 points and 11 rebounds against Indiana State and 14 points and eight rebounds vs. Tulane. Griffin had eight rebounds at Arkansas State despite playing only 26 minutes because of foul trouble. Griffin had 19 points and eight rebounds vs. Central Methodist Scheer Two Rebounds From 400: Senior Tim Scheer has played in 74 games at Southeast and has 664 career points and 398 career rebounds. Scheer had a seasonal high eight rebounds vs. UMKC. Winans Selected 2nd Team Preseason All-OVC: Derek Winans, last season's OVC Freshman of the Year, was named second team preseason All-OVC in voting by coaches and sports information directors. Winans led the Indians in scoring (14.9 ppg), 3-pointers (53), steals (45), assists (80), minutes played (34.8) and was third in free throw percentage (.797) and rebounding (4.6). With 402 points scored, Winans ranks as the top freshman scorer at Southeast since William "Bud" Eley scored 465 points during the 1995-96 season. Winans was the Indians' rebounding leader in OVC games with an average of 5.3 per game. In OVC statistics, Winans was ranked in nine different statistical categories. A 4.0 student, Winans is a two-time OVC Medal of Honor winner. On the season, Winans leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game and assists with 4.3 per game. Hence Has Career High: Junior Damarcus Hence scored a career high 25 points at UMKC. He led the Indians in the season opener at Arkansas State with 24 points and eight rebounds rebounds. He currently averages 12.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Hence is the second leading rebounder for the Indians. Golson Debut A Success: Junior college transfer Reggie Golson, a graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, saw his first playing time in the win over Oakland City. He scored 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds in just 14-minutes playing time. Golson was 5-9 from the field. Golson, who has been recovering from minor knee surgery in September, did not play in the SIU game because of soreness in the knee. He is doubtful for the Arkansas-Little Rock game. Crader in the Middle: Sophomore Adam Crader, 6-11, 250, has averaged 8.7-minutes per game with an average of 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He is shooting .636 from the field and 100% from the line. He suffered a groin pull in practice last week and did not play in the UMKC game. He will be available for the UALR game. King Provides Spark off Bench: Demetrius King came off the bench to score 17 points and pull down five rebounds vs. SIU. He also had one assist, one block and one steal. King was 4-6 from the floor, 3-4 from three and 6-7 from the line. He came off the bench to hit key back-to-back second half 3-pointers in the win over UMKC. He had 10 points and six rebounds. For the season, King averages 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Hale Injured: Sophomore guard Brett Hale who has not scored in the last two games, suffered a back injury in the UMKC game and is doubtful for the Arkansas-Little Rock game. On the season, Hale averages 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Roberts at the Point: Kevin Roberts continues to log a lot of time at the point guard position. He played 26-minutes in the SIU game and had a team-high six assists. Roberts played 24-minutes against UMKC and again had six assists with no turnovers. Grapperhaus Contributes: True freshman Cole Grapperhaus played seven minutes in the UMKC game, pulling down two rebounds with no turnovers. Grapperhaus has three blocks in four games played. OVC Honors: Dec. 3 - Brandon Griffin, Newcomer of the Week Dec. 10 - Brandon Griffin, Newcomer of the Week At the Show Me Center: Southeast is 172-60 (.742) in games at the Show Me Center. Gary Garner Radio Show: Gary Garner has a live radio show on KGIR, 1220 AM, each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Show Me's Restaurant in Cape Girardeau. Erik Sean is host for the hour long show. SID Streak: Southeast SID Ron Hines has worked 642 consecutive basketball games at Southeast. The streak is the longest in Division I basketball. Hines has not missed a game since 1980.
