No. 6 Missouri Overpowers Redhawks, 52-3

COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 6 Missouri scored early and often en route to a 52-3 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday night in front of 62,305 fans at Faurot Field. The Tigers held a 42-0 advantage at halftime. Mizzou quarterback Chase Daniel led the Tigers offense, going 16-for-17 for 245 yards and three touchdowns in the first half.

Walter Peoples led Southeast with seven receptions and 65 yards in the first half. Houston Lillard was 15-for-33 for 144 yards with one interception over the first two quarters. Michael Williamson added four catches for 35 yards in the first half.

On the defensive side, twin brothers Victor Anderson and Vincent Anderson both registered five tackles in the first half.

Doug Spada got Southeast on the board with a 41-yard field goal with 11:33 left in the fourth quarter. The scoring drive, led by freshman quarterback Matt Scheible, spanned 12 plays for 56 yards in 5:09.

Lillard finished 20-for-38 passing for 197 yards. Peoples led all receivers with a career-high eight receptions for 80 yards. Mike Jones rushed 12 times for 56 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

Scheible went 5-for-13 passing for 46 yards in his NCAA debut. He also rushed three times for 18 yards.

Daniel's backup, Chase Patton, was 7-for-8 passing for 64 yards in relief. De'Vion Moore rushed for a game-high 75 yards on nine carries. Derrick Washington gained 67 yards and scored three total touchdowns. Jimmy Jackson carried the ball 10 times for 64 yards and a score.

Williamson caught a career-high seven passes for 48 yards. Chante Ahamefule and Brad Stewart each caught four passes.

Jerrel Jackson led the Tigers receivers with six receptions for 70 yards. Jared Perry caught three passes for 60 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown. Chase Coffman and Tommy Saunders both caught three passes for 48 yards.

Defensively, Nick Stauffer and Philip Klaproth led the way with eight tackles each. Stauffer added two tackles for losses totaling 11 yards, including a sack for a loss of 10 yards. Vincent Anderson finished with seven tackles while Victor Anderson notched six stops.

Sean Weatherspoon paced the Mizzou defense with six tackles and one sack. Will Ebner added 5.5 tackles.

Spada averaged 53 yards per punt with a long of 61 yards.

Southeast returns to the field Thursday night at home against Tennessee Tech to open Ohio Valley Conference play. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Houck Stadium for the game that is nationally-televised on ESPNU. Free tailgating activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Bellevue Street in front of the Redhawks Success Center.
