Eastern Illinois Defeats Southeast 48-24

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Eastern Illinois built up a 28-3 halftime lead and rolled to a 48-24 Ohio Valley Conference win over Southeast Missouri State.
The Panthers are now 2-0 in the OVC and 3-2 overall while Southeast Missouri falls to 0-3 and 0-6.
Senior running back Vincent Webb led the way for the Panthers with 30 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns which all came in the first half.
Southeast Missouri managed only a 31-yard field goal by Colin Schermann in the first half as EIU rolled up 239 yards in total offense while holding the Redhawks to just 74 yards.
Freshman Tim Holloman scored his first collegiate touchdown in the third quarter to close the gap to 18 points, but the Panthers scored the next two touchdowns to put the game away.
Senior quarterback Mike Haley came off the bench in the final quarter to direct two Southeast scoring drives. He drove the Redhawks 80 yards in nine plays with the touchdown coming on a 10-yard pass to T.J. Milcic.
In the next Southeast possession, Haley drove the team 85 yards in 10 plays with the touchdown again coming on a pass play of eight yards to Milcic.
Haley was 14-24 passing for 177 yards with one interception. Milcic led the Redhawks receivers with six catches for 88 yards.
Panther quarterback Mike Donato was 11-15 passing for 208 yards and one TD.
