Southeast Falls To No. 10 Eastern Illinois 12-0 Indians (3-4, 1-2) will look to rebound in next week's homecoming game against Murray State.

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - J.R. Taylor scored both touchdowns Saturday in leading Eastern Illinois to a 12-0 victory over Southeast Missouri.
In a game played in steady rain, Eastern's Panthers (4-1, 3-0 Gateway Conference), No. 10 in the latest 1-AA rankings, did not attempt a pass. Instead, they ran 57 times for 313 yards, including 241 on 37 carries by Taylor.
The Indians (3-4, 1-2) was held to 156 yards of total offense. Tailback Curtis Cooper led the Indians with 99 yards rushing on 19 carries. Jeromy McDowell was 14-of-29 passing for 47 yards. He was intercepted once and sacked once.
Taylor's first TD was set up by a 3-yard punt to SE Missouri 38 by Kyle East. Seven plays later, Taylor ran 7 yards for the score with eight minutes left in first quarter. His second was a 57-yarder on the first play of the final period. |
