Arkansas Ov erpowers Southeast 63-7
Oct. 14, 2006 Fayetteville, Ark. - The Arkansas Razorbacks, ranked 17th nationally, jumped toa 42-0 halftime lead on the way to a 63-7 win over Southeast Missouri State. The Razorbacks, 5-1 on the season, rolled up 530 yards in total offense while holding the Redhawks to just 144 yards. The Razorbacks scored on their first play from scrimmage when Darren McFadden scored on a 52-yard run. He added another two yard TD run in the first half while his backup, Felix Jones had an 85-yard TSD run and third string tailback Michael Smith had TD runs of 10 and 11-yards. The other first half TD came when 296-pound defensive tackle Keith Jackson intercepted a pass and returned it 69 yards for a score. The only Southeast touchdown came in the third quarter when the Redhawks drove 84 yards in eight plays to score on and 8-yard run by John Radney. The Redhawks 3-3 overall, return to Ohio Valley Conference play next week when they host Eastern Kentucky in a 1 p.m. homecoming game at Houck Stadium. |
