Eastern Kentucky Beats Southeast On Final Play

Richmond, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky quarterback Josh Greco threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Bugg with one-second remaining in the game to give the Colonels a 33-32 come from behind win over Southeast Missouri State.

EKU faced a fourth and 12 from the Southeast 23 when Greco threw a strike to the 6-5 Bugg who was double covered in the end zone but still came up with the game winning catch.

The final play TD ended Southeast Missouri's upset bid. The Redhawks, who led 16-0 in the first quarter, trailed late in the game but retook the lead on Tim Holloman fourth touchdown of the night with 4:09 remaining. A two-point conversion pass failed, but Southeast held a 32-27lead before the final scoring drive by the Colonels.

Holloman had a great night with 31 carries foir a season-high 155 yards rushing and two TD's and six catches for 95 yards and two TD's. Mike Haley was 18-27 passing with no interceptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns.

Eastern Kentucky got a four touchdown night from running back Mark Dunn who rushed the ball 20 times for 91 yards and four TD's.

EKU is 4-4 overall and 4-1 and in second place in the Ohio Valley Conference. The loss drops Southeast to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the OVC. The Redhawks host Murray State in the homecoming game on Saturday, 1 p.m., at Houck Stadium.
