Football Falls To Tennessee Tech 41-21 Jeromy McDowell completes 23-of-34 passes for 241 yards and one TD for the Indians.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Grant Swallows threw for 282 yards and five touchdowns as Tennessee Tech defeated Southeast Missouri 41-21 on Saturday afternoon.
Tennessee Tech (4-3, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference) scored 20 unanswered points in the first half on three touchdown passes by Swallows after Southeast Missouri had taken an early 7-0 lead on a fake field goal in the first quarter.
Swallows was 15-of-18 for the afternoon.
Southeast Missouri (3-6, 1-4) cut the lead to 20-14 on a nine-play, 86-yard drive to open the second half that ended when Jeromy McDowell found Willie Ponder on an 8-yard pass.
After another Swallows touchdown pass, the Indians pulled within 27-21 when Tarik Simpson recovered a fumble by McDowell in the endzone.
Southeast Missouri then forced the Golden Eagles to punt and had a chance to take the lead, but the Indians turned the ball over on a fumble.
Tennessee Tech put the game away on the next play when Swallows threw his fifth touchdown pass of the afternoon to Ronnie Sidler, who took Swallows' swing pass 29 yards for the score to give the Golden Eagles a 34-21 lead. |
