CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. (October 28, 2000) - Quarterback Rashad West had 212 total yards of offense to lead the Southeast Missouri State Indians in a 34-14 victory over the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks.

Southeast (3-5, 1-4 Ohio Valley) matched a season high for points with 34 while rolling up 409 total yards of offense. West completed nine of 13 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball nine times for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Southeast got on the board first when West ran a 11-yard keeper into the endzone to give the Indians a 7-0 lead with 5:59 remaining in the first quarter.

Tennessee-Martin (1-8, 0-7 OVC) evened the score in the second quarter when Roland Ogletree's nine-yard run capped off a 12-play, 80-yard drive that took 6:30 off the clock.

Southeast would strike back with an impressive eight play, 77-yard drive capped off by Marcus Patton's three-yard run. Six minutes later Mark Blissett ran 7-yards to paydirt to put Southeast up 21-7. The Indians would never look back.

UT-Martin pulled within seven on the Skyhawks first passing touchdown of the season. Quarterback Robert Hines found a wide-open Troy Phillips in the endzone to bring the score to 21-14 with 2:04 remaining in the half. Southeast, however, would march down the field in 1:38 and West's 5-yard touchdown pass to Jerl Huling pushed the lead to 28-14.

Patton would add a 14-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, which turned out to be the only score of the second half. Patton finished the game with 81-yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns.

The Indians pulled several starters including West. Backup Bobby Brune came in to complete 3-6 passes for 29 yards and rushed for 28 yards in his time at quarterback.
