Southeast Missouri Football Beats Murray State 24-17

Murray, Ky. - Tim Holloman ran up the middle for a 76-yard touchdown run with 9:18 remaining to give Southeast Missouri State a 24-17 win over Murray State. Holloman rushed for a career high 212 yards and two touchdowns including a 27-yard touchdown run in the second quarter as Southeast improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the OVC. Murray State falls to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in the OVC. The Redhawks fell behind early when the Racers blocked a punt and Taylor Lanigan picked i9t up and returned it one yard for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Colin Schermann kicked a 26-yard field goal before Holloman's 27-yard TD run put Southeast up 10-7. Tony Anderson added an 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the Redhawks up 17-7 before the Racers mounted a comeback. Shan McCleskey scored on a 30-yard pass from Zach Barnard late in the third quarter and a Gary Crass 25-yard field goal tied the score with 10:25 remaining in the game. Anderson rushed for a career high 92-yards for the Redhawks who will host Tennessee-Martin next Saturday, 6 p.m., at Houck Stadium. |
