Edgar Jones Signs With The Baltimore Ravens

April 30, 2007

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Defensive end Edgar Jones of Southeast Missouri State University has signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.

Jones, who led NCAA Division I-AA in sacks with 12 and ranked fourth nationally in tackles for losses with 18, signed the day after the NFL draft concluded.

Originally from Rayville, La., Jones was a first team All-America pick. He will attend the Baltimore mini-camp this weekend.

Wide receiver Oge Oge has been invited and will attend the Detroit Lions mini-camp. Oge, originally from Jackson, Miss., had 21 catches for 296 yards and two touchdowns for the Redhawks last season.

Three-time All-American punter David Simonhoff is still weighing his options, but anticipates signing a free agent contract with some NFL team in the next few days. Simonhoff, originally from Coral Gables, Fla., averaged 44.8 yards per punt last season to rank second nationally in I-AA.
